About

The MVA Studio is owned and operated by Joshua Hardisty and Kimberlee Whaley.

PRINCIPALS

Joshua Hardisty holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Minneapolis College of Art & Design (MCAD) where he’s also been teaching since 2008. His work experience includes designing pop-ups and custom installations for adidas and PUMA while at Latitude. Awards for his Latitude projects include AdFed, Type Directors Club and AIGA Minnesota. He freelanced at KNOCK throughout the 00’s where he developed Target’s store-wide sale signage which was in use from 2008–2018. Joshua co-founded the record label Corleone in 1997 and currently produces music as HALIFAX.

Kimberlee Whaley is a photographer and designer with a BFA in Photography from MCAD. Her experience outside The MVA includes freelancing in the photo studios at General Mills, and working as staff photographer at the Goldstein Museum of Design. Her photography work has been recognized by Adobe and the Jerome Foundation, and images from her most recent project “I Saw You in the Wood” was awarded Best In Show at the Duluth Art Institute’s 62nd Arrowhead Regional Biennial.
